Jai Sri Ram.

THE PRACTITIONER AND THE PRECEPTOR.
Lord Ranganatha is worshiped by Sri Rama Himself and are the presiding deities of Sri Rangam temple fondly revered as Periya Perumal and Namperumal. Sri Parasara Bhattar, who ascended the Acharya Peetam after Sri Embar in our Guruparambarai lineage, believed that Periya Perumal is the incarnation of Kannan Emberuman (Krishnar) and Namperumal is the incarnation of Chakravathy Thirumagan (Ramar).
Sri Rama and Sri Krishna incidentally have many things in common and divergent too. The commonality are :
1. Their birth places, namely Ayodhya and Mathura, are both cities of salvation from the cycle of births and deaths.
2. Both adjoin the rivers, Sarayu and Yamuna respectively.
3. Ramaratnam and Gopalaratnam, as we know, also had schooling under Sage Vasishta and Santheepini respectively and both revealed the Charama sloka, a declaration to salvage humanity.
The difference or divergences are :
The number 1. Rama was born in the day hours on Navami (9) and Sri Krishna was born in the dead of night on an Ashtami day (8).
2. The clan they belong to are Surya and Chandra Vamsa.
3. Rama remained in Ayodhya after birth while Sri Krishna escaped to Nanda Gokula, adopting it as His second house.
4. Rama married Sita and remained monogamist for life but Krishna married Rukmini as a Kshtriya and Nappinai as a Vaisya and several others after vanquishing Narakasura, as if a polygamist.
5. Rama is meticulous in ritualistic oblutions, meaning Achara pradanan and Krishna an Achara brushtan in the sense of the word commoner, wanted in the midst of Cows, Gopikas as well as the elite.
6. Rama is known for all virtues, Krishna for His Leela.
7. Rama's deeds are worthy of imitation and Krishna's to invigorate.
8. One Dasaratha begot 4 children, including Sri Rama. On the other hand, 4 people, namely Vasuseva Devaki and Nanda Gopa Yasoda, jointly had one Krishna.
9. Of all the above the most important and vital divide between Rama and Krishna is their own vow to salvage humanity.
Sri Rama proclaimed that He, doing away all pre-conditions, would never ever fail to extend His arms of consolation to the seeker in refuge.
Sri Krishna, in the light of the conflicting ways to seek Him for salvation, declared His intend to bring peace unto the seeker with a simple and genuine condition of absolute faith in Him rather that on the deeds of seeking asylum.
Sri Rama or Sri Krishna, however, have one message in common that our love -mitra bhavam- may be deceptive, but never, our maitram be placed in any thing else than Him.
