RAMARPANAM-22

File 22

Dated 30th April, 2012.

Jai Sri Ram.

Can any one measure up to Rama?

Vedas stand testimony to the description and experience of the Supreme God named Sriman Narayana. He manifests in 5 ways as Para, VhiUga, Vhibava, AntharyAmi & ArchA. The Vedas in turn takes to 5 forms namely Sruti, Agama, Ithihasa-PurANa, Smriti & Arulicheyalgal. Of course, there is the 6th Avatar for both of them, in that Vishnu incarnates as mentor-preceptor in the form of AchAryan and the Vedas as Commentaries, Arulicheyal ViyAkyAnams.

Sage Narada after enlisting some of the distinguishing Swroopa, Roopa, GuNA aspects, moves on further in His efforts to portray Sri Rama by comparing to things that come rather close if not the same of Him.

The fact is, nothing can explain fully or exactly His very form and features but an attempt can only be made to relate Him to objects or things known to us so that a vague if not vivid picture could be perceived of Him.

His courage and relentlessness is compared to the Oceans. They are vast and deep, sustain numerous lives, contains precious corals and pearls, supports the dependent and rejects the independents such as the gross-hay that get washed off  the shores instead of getting strapped on to them. So much so, the greatness and glory of Sri Rama is unfathomable. His GuNAs are the precious stones. Uttering His four letter name is a life saver or a miruta sanjEvini. Those with egotism or ahangkAra, mamakAra are drifted away to samsArA rather than to His world  of Paramapadam.

His resalute is as firm as HimavAn. He is not blunt on that count but cool and kind hearted like the ice clad in the mountains.

He is like Vishnu in courage and valour and compares to the Moon in soothing appearances.

Let us find a home in Him like the fish in the sea, which cannot live outside of it and not a straw of grass to be striven on the shores unwittingly.
