Jai Sri Ram.
Sri Rama Kavacham.
Recitation of Rama Kavacha mantras is good to sublimate our Spirits. It serves as armor against evil thoughts and deeds, when chanted in commune with all the three senses: namely the tongue chanting the Nama: - pOtri - PallAndu (by words), the two hands folded in anjali mudra (by deeds) and the mind focusing on the DAsa bhavam (by thought).
Continuing the simile, Sri Rama compares to the supernovea fire called kAlAgni in His fury and anger. His anger ends in good to the truthful and causeth trust in that the bad will be put down with a frowning fury.
He compares to mother Earth, prithvi in His enduring or tolerant nature. Earth houses even those who drill, drub or deface Her. So also Rama forgives all misbehavers and disbelievers with tolerant spirit in His own case. But when it comes to His devotees cause, He drubs them all decisively.
He compares to God of wealth, KubEra when it comes to giving away charity and to Dharma when it comes to plain truth.
Sri Rama, accredited with all such qualities, is the natural choice as Hero of samkshEba Ramayana which Sage Narada revealed for elaboration by VAlmEki. There are three notable and very important commentaries to this Epic work by :
Sri Govindarajar volumed RAmayaNa BhooshNam.
Sri SivasagAyam named RAmayaNa SirOmaNi.
Sri Raman titled RAmayaNa Thilakam.
Now it is time to de tour the story with commentaries as above and enliven our lives purposeful and meaningful.
