Jai Sri Ram.
Samkshepa Ramayanam (de tour Rama anuyatra).
Rama Khata anubhavam or experiencing Sri Rama GuNa samudram is like venturing a dive in the ocean for pearl picking. Every body cannot do that. For such of those, Sage Narada's Samksheba Ramayanam will be of great help. This forms part of the 1st chapter of Valmiki Ramayana. Here the story of Sri Rama is re-told in brief. With the story, we could re-trace the Rama yatrA trail from Ayodhya to Lanka and back.
It is all about charitam Raghunandanasya.
About DasarathAthmaja supriya Ram.
About ViswAmitra priya dhana Ram.
About Janaki valabha Sri Ram.
About JamadAgnaya jitha subha Ram.
About Bharata vanditha pAlaka Ram.
About Viprajana priya desika Ram.
About Kara dwamsitha jayasri Ram.
About Hanumath Prabhu poojita Ram.
About Rana ranga dheera vatsala Ram.
About DasamukAntaka vaibava Ram.
About Vibheeshana Sreedha sAketha Ram.
About PattabhishekAlankrutha mogaka Ram.
About samasta loka paripAlana pAvana Ram.
Our Anuyatra story starts at Bittur near Kanpur (U P ) where Maharshi Valmiki ashram exists. Tamasa, a tributary of river Ganges, is adjoining this place.
Then we move on to Ayodhya (U P) on the banks of Sarayu. It covers Dasarath bhavan, Ram janma bhoomi, Kanaka bhavanam, the Palace of Rama and Sita.
Lakshman ghat, Gupta ghat on the Saryu River is relevant to various Ramayana happenings at different times later. Lakshman ghat is the place where LakshmaNa ended His life. Gupta ghat is the place where Rama and the Ayodhyavasi attained Vaikunta.
We have the Valmiki bhavan also here. The entire Ramayana slokas are inscribed on the walls of the bhavanam.
On the outskirts is the Nandhi gram, the place where Bharata stayed for14 years during Rama's exile.
Buxar in Bhihar is the next lap point. Kamashram, Thatakavan and Sidhashram are the places visited by Rama and Lakshmana along with sage Viswamitra on their way to yaga samrakshaNam. At Kamashram Rama and Lakshmana stayed overnight and Viswamitra had to wake them up next day invoking kouslaya supraja Rama.... Thatakavan is the place where demoness Tatakha was ended. Sidhashram is the place where Viswamitra completed his yagnya with the help of Rama and Lakshmana.
From here we go along with Rama and Lakshmana to Chapra-Revalgunj (Bhihar)where Goutama Rishi ashram is situated and where the Ganges and Sarayu meet. Here Ahalya was brought to life by Rama.
On the way to Seethamarhi, birth place of Sita, we come to Sonepur (Bhihar). Here Ganga and Gandaki rivers meet and is the famous Gajendara moksha sthal. From here we proceed to Janakpuri in Nepal, where Sita was married to Rama.
Then comes the exile of Rama and we move on to Allahabad (UP), place of Triveni sangamam. Bhardwaja Ashram is close by.
There after, we come to Srungiberapuram, where Rama met Guha on His way to life in exile. We take a visit to Sage Rishyashrunga and Shanta Muni Ashram and Ram and Sita Sayana Sthal prepared by Guha, where they rested before leaving to Chitrakoot.
Chitrakoot (U P) is the place where Rama stayed briefly, on the banks of Mandakini river. Gupta Godhavari where the river originates from multiple sources like Sita kund, Ramlakshman kund, Danush kund embanking Atri, Anasuya Ashram. Kamadgiri, where Bharata met Rama, in his efforts to bring Him back to Ayodhya, is the place where the foot prints of Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Bharata, Satrugan and that of Kousalya are preserved even to-day, to be seen to be believed.
As Rama moved on to Dandakaranya, we come to see Viradha kund, Sharabanga, SutheekshNa Ashram. Moving deep into the forest we come to Agasthya Muni Ashram.
Going past Kundinapura, Rukmini’s birth place, we reach Ramtek (Maharashtra) off Narmada river. We have one more Ashram in the name of Agasthya, in the vicinity of Ram Giri and Ram Talab. The third one near Manmad.
After 10 ½ years of wandering in DandakAranya, Rama reaches Nasik Panchavati (Maharashtra). Places like Ram ghat, Sita guha, Parnakudi, where Soorpanaka visits, Maya Mareecha deceits and Ravana abducts Sita, all that happen here.
From Tapovan we move on to Thaket, where we can witness Jatayu moksha sthal.
That leads us to Anegundi in Hospet (Karnataka) that earlier was Kishkinda. We look for Vali vadha sthal, Matanga Ashram, Shabari guha and Pampa Sarovar and get a glimpse of all of them.
Off Hampi (Karnataka) we find Sugreeva guha and off Mysore-iruppu falls (Karnataka) we find LakshmaNa theertha, Madhuvan that was the fruit garden belonging to Sugreeva. Hanuman and His troupe while returning from Lanka, Sita's hostage place, deluged this garden out of frency and fervor.
There off, we reach Thiruppullani Sethu karai (Tamil Nadu) for us to witness Dharbha Sayana Perumal and Kadal kattiya Perumal, near Devipattinam again in Tamil Nadu.
That brings us to Rama’s Lanka (now in Srilanka) pravesam, finishing Ravana and returning to Ayodhya to be crowned as Pattabhi Raman.
VibheeshaNa then was presented with Periya Perumal (Para Vasudevan) of present day Sri Rangam. The Utsavamoorthy, fondly worshiped as Namperumal, is none other than Sri Rama Himself. Let Their blessings be with us at all times to come.
Thus our Rama Anuyaytra ends with the culmination of our visit to Sri Rangam temple on the divided banks of the river Kaveri (Trichy, TN), portrayed as the Ganges of the south AND Virjaseyam of Bhuloka Vaikundam.
WE, really are the blessed ones to be born and to live in this Bharata Punya Bhoomi, where Rama, Sita and LakshmaNa (PranavAkAra Tatvam) traversed North to South, East to west, all by walk, for the sake of dhushta sikshaNam and sishta paripAlanam.
