Bagavath Ramanuja got His tutoring under five great Acharys and in whom Sri Alawandar left all the wealth His grand father, Sri Nathamunigal bequeathed to Him through Sri Uyaakkondar and Sri Manakkaal Nambigal. Sri Alawandar further wished that Sri Ramanuja should occupy the the throne He graced at the instance of His grandfather.
The wealth Sri Ramanuja got through These five Acharyas are :
1. Dwayartham from Sri Periya Nambigal.
2. Sri Ramayanam from Sri Saila Poornar
(Periya Thirumalai Nambigal).
3. Thirumantram, Charama Slokam from Sri thirukotiyur Nambigal.
4. Thiruvoimozhi from Sri Thirumalai Andan.
5. Mudal Moovayira Divya Prabandams from
Sri Azhwar Thiruvaranga Peqrumal Arayar Swamigal,
Like the tributaries of a river make it swell and deepen,
Sri Ramanuja became the ocean of knowledge under their tutelage for the benefit of the Seivaishnava community at large.
Sri Saila Poornar was Sri Ramanuja's maternal uncle from whom He learnt Sri Ramayana and It's intricate meanings in line with Srivaishnava order (Sampradayam). He performed the water carrying service to ThevapPerumal of Kanchi following his uncle's similar service to Thiruvengadamudaiyan more by virtue of instinct than by tradition.
We on the other hand have no running to be done to acquire similar knowledge except to surrender to one's own Acharya, as that being transmitted through channels of 74 Acharya lineage Sri Ramanuja created for the purpose.
