RAMARPANAM-17

File 17

Jai Sri Ram

The Penta-force, that Rama is.

Where ever Sri Rama is consecrated and worshiped, He remains a sweet nector to be drunk in the form of RamAmruta.

His another characteristic amongst the 16 listed by Sage Narada is AtmavAn , which means He is the beholder of all Atmas or Souls. This Sanskrit word has 5 interpretations and all the five go well with Sri Rama.

1. Atma means the JeevAtma or the manifested soul. Rama cherished His human form and was eager to be called Dasaratha Rama instead of  Bhavan Narayana: The important aspect about the soul is that it is subservient. There was nothing wanting in Rama doing subordinate obeisances to Sages VisvAmitra and Bhardwaja in this score.

2. Atma means Druthi or Steadfastness. While granting asylum to Vibheeshana, He ruled out emphatically that He cannot be shaken from His vow of granting refuge to him or anybody, even when that invite the wrath of all the three worlds as He is that mighty One, whose little finger could do the rest for Him.

3. Atma means Deha or charming nature of His beautiful Stature. Sri Rama is one who overwhelms every other person with a feeling of elated happiness by His gracious appearance. His name itself suggest the same.

4. Atma means SwabhAva or intrinsic Nature. Rama's basic nature is to let Himself to be controlled by His devotees. He did every thing what Sage Bhardwaja or Sugreeva asked Him to do and submitted to their control though He is the other way to every other person.

5. Atma means Paramatma or the all Supreme God .  The onus of granting Moksha rests with the all Supreme God.  All other Demi-Gods have rest all powers except this. The proverb Moksham ichEth Janardana: will vouchsafe this.

With the going as above, one may have a doubt as to how  Rama could be deemed Atma and ParamAtma both at one time.

Sri Rama took the human form to vanquish Ravana, no doubt.  But He ideally set  Himself a role model for others, in their journey as men of mortals. This human form is the self enforced one as the saying goes ichA gruheetha abimadha DEha: In essence, His being the ParamAtma is the real and un-diminishing one.

That means,

He the Lord- we His servants.

He the Possesser-we the possessed.

He the Sustainer- we the sustained.

He the Omnipresent- we the seat of His presence.

He the controller- we the controlled.

He the Creator- we the created.

He the All supreme- we the subject of  such a Sovereign.

This duality is real and we remain the ineffaceable lot here and elsewhere.
