RamarpaNam-97

File 97.
Dated: 13th Aug. 2012.
Jai Sri Ram.

Vishvamitra ascetic rigors to claim Brahma Rishi title.

Ayodhya is first among the seven towns which grant Paramapadam.  Rama during His life time made that happen. All those who look for release from the cycle of births at the end of their journey in life cannot expect to live there. But Rama lives in all cities, town and villages to facilitate them in this regard.

Namazhwar celebrates the Lord as Karia Maanicka Perumal, for reason of immense value yet is handy. Those blessed by Rama are respected like the owner of a precious stone.
He gives pride of purpose when visited and worshiped every now and then like the owner who desires to keep a close watch on its safety by touch and sight. So do the devotees with the Lord completing the simile.

Coming back to RamayaNa story we observe that

Like a wounded tiger, Vishvamitra seething and scathing in heart, decided to go southward for performing penance. His queen joined Him and living on fruits and roots of plants conducted Him to ascetic rigors for 1000 years. Four children were born to Him in the meanwhile.

Brahma ultimately wished Him a Raja-Rishi. Not enthralled by that, He took to supreme penance again, when Ikshvaku King Trishanku, desiring to reach Heaven with his mortal body approached Him. But Vishvamitra rebuked the idea as impossible.

A Raja turned Raja-Rishi, looking to become a Brahma-Rishi faces many hurdles in between. Never giving up the task ultimately becomes a Mantra-drashtah, worthy of the title He clamored for.

So, set the bar high, you will leap to success at the end, if not tomorrow or the day after.
