Acquaintance with Sage Sadaananda.
Rama Rame manorame, sahasra naama tat tulyam
Out of the 1000 names, the heart throbbing and equivalent in essence to all the other names of Lord VishNu, is the Rama naama. So acknowledges Lord Shiva to Parvathi. Shri Shankara Bhagavat Paadar reiterates the same in his following words:
Jnaathi Thava naama ruchir Mahesaha :
Shiva not only He knows the taste of Rama Naama, He is an ardent bhakta of Rama to be called Ramanatha. That is evidenced in Kaasi kshetra, where He sitting in meditation of Rama mantra, ensures the passage of the dead and gone to Sri Vaikundam.
Returning to RamayaNa story, Vishvamitra introduced Rama LakshmaNa to Sadaananda recalling the incidences of Taataka’s killing, protection of His Yajna by the two of them. Sadaananda was unimpressed. Vishvamitra added that Ahalya was brought to life by Rama and now have come to Him to be blessed etc.
Enquiring about his father Gautama's reuniting with his mother Ahalya, Sage Sadaananda greeted Rama for his adherence to the rightness of conduct; moral virtue of Vishvamitra.
maataa mama munishreSTha raama sandarshanaat itaH |
iha aagatena raameNa puujitena abhivaaditaH ||
Vishvamitra replied saying:
na atikraantam munishreSTha yat kartavyam kRitam mayaa |
Then the focus shifted to the story of Vishvamitra and His turning from one of Raja Rishi to Brahma Rishi, which sage Sadaananda started narrating to Rama LakshmaNa.
For God realization, a Guru is essential as did Vishvamitra to Rama LakshmaNa in all their learning.
