File 91.
Dated: Aug. 3rd, 2012.
Jai Sri Ram.
KannanukE Aamadu cAmam.
Of the four objectives cAmam
or Bhakti or love of God is not objectionable, as it will fetch the other three
effortlessly. Hanuman is the first among
the Rama bhakta sevaks. Sita, the recipient as well as demonstrator of such a
bhakti perform it with a difference of Her claim to Rama’s heart and we Their
feet.
The Alwars and Acharyas loved
God and lived in God. Their bhakti blossoming in to jnana and that turning into
intensified bhakti was a spontaneous affair, a fruit of divine grace.
This gives rise to ecstasy in
union and agony in separation.
These are more pronounced
when the Alwars assume the female attire and for Sita it comes natural. Love of
worldly matters or of opposite sex is alienable and not the one aimed at God.
Night time is the most
disturbing one to those separate of Love. The Moon, who otherwise a pleasant
radiant of cool rays, switch act to that of a hardship monger. The blue waters
of the ocean reminding the complexion of Rama enhance the hardship in courtship
with the Moon, Her parent place.
ERu sevakanaarku ennaiyum uLaL enminkaLe (Thiruvoimozhi 6-1-10)
Alwar unable bear the delay
longing for instant union surrendered to the Lord at Vanamamalai, Kumbakonam
and Tiruvallavazh. The Lord did not response caring for the welfare of the
world. Then He surrenders to Krishna in VibhavA avataaram. Realising His bygone days, He surrendered to the
Lord of TiruvaNvaNdur. Here again unable to go physically, He in Nayikaa
bhavam, resorts to birds in flight to carry His message that
The Lord has one more of His
love mate, waiting to be protected.
Sri Andal, in Her Nachiyar
Thirumozhi (12-1), similarly pleads with Her relatives that She be carried to Mathura,
Aaipaadi, Poigai karai, Pathavilochanam, Govardhanam, or Dwaraka, the place
where Krishna will be available.
Similarly Sita prays for
proximity with Rama rather than fashioning a thorny bed of roses. For that
matter, a leaf, stem, root or the earth that housed a Tulsi plant will suffice
to the exclusion of any other thing un-connected to Rama. As Sita sufferings
continued;
In the mean time Rama with
LakshmaNa were taken to Janaka’s palace and made acquaintances with Sage
Sadaananda.
This episode espouses that Loukika cAmam is thiyajyam
and Bhagavad cAmam is ati udEsyam.
