File 95.
Dated: August 9th, 2012.
Jai Sri Ram.
Nandhini’s self-defense.
Vishvamitra wanting to take home the sacred cow, Kaamadhenu offered many a thing in exchange but Sage Vashishta in as many thoughts, deed and action refused Vishvamitra's bargains and barters. Even an ordinary cow considered sacred is not a commodity to be marketed, how then Shabala, a fulfiller of all boons, can be given away or bartered for other riches?' beseeched Vashishta. Yet, Vishvamitra went on bidding, but to no avail.
tadaa asya shabalaam raama vishvaamitro anvakarSata
Then Vishvamitra forcibly dragged the Cow from Vashishta to the much dislike of the Sage as well as Kaamadhenu, herself. She pleadingly asked
Have you, great souled Sage Vashishta, abandoned me, or what?
yaa aham raaja bhRitaiH diinaa hriyeyam bhRisha duHkhitaa
The Sage pleading inability ordained Her
na tvaam tyajaami shabale na api me apakRitam tvayaa
na hi tulyam balam mahyam raajaa tu adya visheSataH
to take on the King herself. Taking His orders, the Cow created a force that subdued the forces of Vishvamitra and a war ensued.
tasya darpam balam yathnam naashayaami duraatmanaH
Pahlavas, Yavana, Khaambhoja unleashed by the prowess of the Cow were plundered helter-skelter by Vishvamitra
When the forces generated by the Sacred Cow, namely Kaamadhenu, eliminated Vishvamitra's army and his hundred sons as well, he felt infuriated and prayed Lord Shiva for granting unequalled missiles. On getting them, he returned to Sage Vashishta's hermitage only to ruin it completely.
In His exercise of Dheha balam against Atma balam, Vishvamitra realizes that Brahma tejo balam is far superior to Kshatriya balam and decides to go in pursuit of the same.
